Within the Divine Mysteries there have always been different methods of practical theurgical approach for attaining direct personal experience of the Divine in levels.

Each level offers direct experience relating to particular states of consciousness within the Divine as a whole, because a human being cannot just approach the totality of the Holy Living One.

In Western esotericism this is sometimes referred to as ‘Rising on the Planes’ and doing so successfully in each particular level results in sacred vision and encounters with the living theurgical image (eidolon) as the avatar of each level.

When approach is made through proper use of the Dreamstate Keys, it results in lucid dreaming that allows for conscious interaction because consciousness has been shifted into the aethyric level, the level of the subconscious mind (which is also the lucid dreamstate).
